Jasmine rice   2 cups
Water           3 cups

Directions for cooking Jasmine rice

  1. Rinse the jasmine rice 2-3 times with clean water until the water is clear.
  2. Pour the washed rice into the rice cooker, add 3 cups of water, plug in the rice cooker, and press the cook button. Wait for the button to flick, indicating the rice is ready (approximately 15-20 minutes).
  3. Once the button flicks, let the rice rest for an additional 5-10 minutes. Then, open the lid and use a spatula to gently stir the rice to release the steam.

Characteristics of the Jasmine rice:

  1. The rice grains are white, clear, and shiny.
  2. The grains are separate and do not stick together in clumps.
  3. They have the fragrant aroma of jasmine rice.
  4. When squeezed, the rice grains are soft, neither too hard nor too soggy.

Suggestions and techniques A water-to-rice ratio of 1.5:1 is ideal for new jasmine rice. For older rice, it may be necessary to increase the water ratio to 1.75:1.
