Ingredients
Jasmine rice 2 cups
Water 3 cups
Directions for cooking Jasmine rice
- Rinse the jasmine rice 2-3 times with clean water until the water is clear.
- Pour the washed rice into the rice cooker, add 3 cups of water, plug in the rice cooker, and press the cook button. Wait for the button to flick, indicating the rice is ready (approximately 15-20 minutes).
- Once the button flicks, let the rice rest for an additional 5-10 minutes. Then, open the lid and use a spatula to gently stir the rice to release the steam.
Characteristics of the Jasmine rice:
- The rice grains are white, clear, and shiny.
- The grains are separate and do not stick together in clumps.
- They have the fragrant aroma of jasmine rice.
- When squeezed, the rice grains are soft, neither too hard nor too soggy.
Suggestions and techniques A water-to-rice ratio of 1.5:1 is ideal for new jasmine rice. For older rice, it may be necessary to increase the water ratio to 1.75:1.
